Scans (Mammogram) – A mammogram is a screening form that reveals
a lump or mass that may signify breast cancer risk. In people who are not
organic, mammograms may be used to diagnose breast cancer and to
identify breast cancer in people with signs such as lumps, discomfort,
swelling, or dullness in the skin. By positioning the brains correctly on the
mammogram device, a trained radiologist trains people for the
mammography. The breast is placed on a special frame and compressed
by the technologist with a transparent plastic paddle. This must be
compact as the size of the breast is important to uniformize much of the
breast tissue. The test requires a minimum of about 30 minutes. People
aged 50-70 in England are given breast examination if they have signs or
symptoms of breast cancer. The justification behind a mammogram is to
attempt to spot breast cancer as early as possible, meaning that women
are not prone to become untreatable. On both breasts, the rate for a
mammogram scan begins at around £230. (User, 2017).
Another advantage is that it is easier to identify mammograms rather than
breast cancer. For eg, if the woman in one of her milk ducts called Ductal
Carcinome in Situ (DCIS) has a minor anomalous tissue growth, this could
be extracted to avoid the disease from rising up and being cancerous.
Nonetheless, when you get a mammography, there are certain dangers,
but such threats are very small and a mammogram is worth it. When you
are pregnant, women can also notify the doctor as radiation from the
mammogram machine might possibly damage your child.
But it is a very small chance. A mammogram disadvantage is that it only
measures breast cancer, and many potential tumours need to be
screened using certain tests. It is an inconvenience as a mammogram
image provides a very simple view that can be really helpful when
