D&M 2/SPSS1. BETROUWBAARHEIDSANALYSE MET CRONBACH’S ALFA
De waarde van de betrouwbaarheid van (Bijv) de volgende items is Cronbach's Alfa (een
gewogen som van correlaties tussen de vragen)
1. My waist is too large
2. I have too much fat on my body
3. I am not overweight
4. My stomach is at the right size
Om een betrouwbare test te maken, volg je de volgende 4 stappen:
STAP 1: RECODE DE NEGATIEVE ITEMS (VRAGEN)

Recode into different variable
daarna kies je de vragen die gehercodeerd moeten worden en sleept deze naar:
“Numeric variable –> Output Variable”
Daarna verander je de naam in ‘recodequestion…’ en klik op change
klik nu op ”Old and New Values” en verander deze (1 – 7, 2 – 6, 3 – 5 etc.)
klik op Continue en OK
STAP 2: BEREKEN CRONBACH’S ALFA

Reliability Analysis
kies de vragen die je wilt gebruiken, in dit geval vraag 1,2, recode3, recode,4
klik op OK

De waarde van Cronbach's Alfa is gelijk aan 0.720.
- Als de Cronbach's Alfa hoger is dan 0,8 is dit erg
goed
- Als de Cronbach's Alfa kleiner is dan 0,6 mag je de
items (schaal) niet gebruiken.
STAP 3: IS ER EEN SUBSET VAN 3 ITEMS DIE EEN HOGERE BETROUWBAARHEIDSMAAT
HEBBEN?

Vink aan: “Scale if item deleted”
klik ok “Continue” en “OK”

In deze output zijn twee kolommen belangrijk, namelijk: “Corrected Item-Total Correlation”
en “Cronbach’s Alfa if item deleted”. De corrected item-totaal correlation is de correlatie
tussen de desbetreffende vraag en de som van de drie andere vragen. Bij de eerste vraag is
dat 0.526. Als je deze vraag verwijderd krijg je een subset van de overige drie items met een
interne consistentie (Cronbach’s Alfa) gelijk aan 0.647 (Cronbach’s Alpha if Items Deleted).
Bij bovenstaande tabel is het beste om het derde item te verwijderen want dan wordt de IC
0.787 i.p.v. 0.241.
STAP 4: BEREKEN DE TOTALE SCORE VAN DE BESTE SUBSET VAN 3 VRAGEN
We gebruiken nu de items 1,2 en recode4.

in het vakje ‘Target Value’ noteer je de naam van de nieuwe variabele
(problemwiththebodyweight)
in het vakje ‘Numeric Expression’ noteer je de berekening
(question1+question2+recodequestion4)

De data staat nu in een extra colomn aan de rechterkant. Nu kunnen de gegevens
geanalyseerd worden met de totale score (variabele met naam
ProblemsWithTheBodyWeight). Omdat de nieuwe variabele een kwantitatieve variabele is
moet deze op "Scale" gezet worden in plaats van de standaard SPSS-instelling van
"nominaal". ( kijken naar de items, die staan ook meestal allemaal op scale!)
De volgende stap is om een grafiek van de totale score te maken. Omdat de totale score
van het construct (ProblemsWithTheBodyWeight) een kwantitatieve variabele is, is de beste
grafiek een histogram (met ‘problemswiththebodyweight’ op de x-as)
VRAGEN
1. Test met een t-test of er een verschil is in de totale score tussen de hoge en de lage SES-
groep. Gebruik een significantie niveau van 5%
