Cholesterolsynthese doet uw lichaam in anabole omstandigheden, als er genoeg is. Dat is
een energievragend proces, energierijke elektronen en ATP worden verbruikt om cholesterol
te bekomen. Cholesterol zelf kunnen we in de celmembraan steken, afleiden naar vorming
galzouten, naar uw vitamine D3 afgeleiden of naar de aanmaak van uw steroiden, =
geslachtshormonen, maar ook glucocorticoiden.

We beginnen met acetylcoa, eerste reactie loopt volledig analoog met ketogenese, acetylcoa
wordt eerst geactiveerd tot acetoacetylcoa, opnieuw komt hydroxylemthylglutarylsynthase
tussen, en we maken zelf hetzelfde intermedirair, gemeenschappelijk intermediair om te
zeggen  ketonen of cholesterol.

we veel cholesterol hebben is dat voor onze gezondheid niet genoeg, maar is wel essentieel.

hydroxymethylglutarylcoareductase. Dus alle endogene cholesterolvoeding wordt
geblokkeerd. Als je dan heel cholesterolrijk eet, helpt je dat niet verder.

Mevalonaat gaat onder invloed van 3 kinases omgevormd worden naar een bouwsteen,
isopreen, een sequentie van koolstoffen, die gaan we met elkaar laten reageren. Zo vormen
we sqaleen.

3.1
Squaleen op die manier omvormen tot een steroid skelet. Eerste product dat we kunnen
maken met een steroid skelet is lanosterol, dat moet zich nog reorganiseren, vooral thv de
zijketens, met de vorming van cholesterol.

3.2
Belangrijkste stap bij cholesterol, dat enzym beslist of we voor cholesterol gaan gaan of niet,
die beslissing zal afhankelijk zijn van een hormonaal gereguleerd systeem insuline of
glucagon. We gaan cholesterol aanmaken als dat reductase ook actief is, actief reductase dat
wil zeggen dat insuline ervoor zorgt dat fosfaatgroep verwijderd wordt, glucagon zal het
tegenovergestelde doen, zal fosforyleren, en doet dat nog via een tussenstap, een extra
kinase dat of actief of inactief is, en daar zullen uw insuline en glucagon op inspelen.
