1. WEEFSEL IN HET ALGEMEEN

Weefsels zijn structuren die gevormd worden door groeperingen van cellen met veelal een gelijksoortige vorm en functie,
m.i.b. van hun intercellulaire materie

4 primaire weefsels:

- Epitheel of dekweefsel
- Bind- en steunweefsel
- Spierweefsel
- Zenuwweefsel

4 primaire weefsels zijn met elkaar vermengd in verschillende verhoudingen

2. EPITHEELWEEFSEL


2.1. FUNCTIE EN OORSPRONG
Functie:

- Bekleden of bedekken van oppervlakken (huid)
- De opname van stoffen (darmwand)
- De afscheiding van stoffen (klieren)
- Het opnemen van prikkels (neuro-epitheel)
- De samentrekking (myo-epitheel)

Afkomstig van de drie embryonale kiembladen:

- Ectoderm (huid, mond, neus en anus)
- Entoderm (ademhalingswegen, spijsverteringskanaal en de klieren daarvan)
- Mesoderm (nieren …)


2.2. VORMEN VAN EPITHEELCELLEN
De vorm en afmetingen van epitheelcellen zijn zeer verschillend
→ gebruikelijke veelhoekige vorm is het gevolg van het dicht opeengepakt zijn tot dunnen of dikke lagen

- Langgerekt in cilindercellen (vb. darmkanaal vanaf slokdarm)
- Rond in kubische cellen (vb. nierbuisjes)
- Zeer plat in plaveiselepitheel (vb. lis van Henle)

o Bovenaan: zeer platten hoornschilfers → vorm verandert afh. van de vulling

o Slijmvliezen die vochtige holten verschillende hoogten liggen
