Logistiek: deel van supply chain management dat op een efficiënte en effectieve manier de
voorwaartse stromen, de opslag en de retourstromen van goederen van een individueel
bedrijf plant, uitvoert en controleert van de oorsprong tot aan de consument om zo de
behoeften van de klanten te vervullen.
- Enge zin: taken die betrekking hebben op goederenvervoer en de bijbehorende
ondersteunende diensten.
- Ruime zin: overal aanwezig op festival, evenementen, ziekenhuis, …




Supply chain management (SCM): het principe waarbij door middel van het beheersen en
het optimaliseren van processen, coördinatie en samenwerking met leveranciers,
tussenpersonen en afnemers een betere functionaliteit van de keten (en elke schakel
binnen die keten) ontstaat.
- Synoniem: integraal ketenbeheer
o Integraal: de verschillende opeenvolgende acties en actoren worden met
elkaar verbonden en als een geheel behandeld.
o Keten: het is de ketting van informatie-, geld- en goederenstromen.
o Beheer: het is niet puur operationeel, er zijn ook beleids- en strategische
aspecten aan verbonden.
- Verschil met logistiek management:
o Logistiek: binnen je bedrijf
o SCM: veel breder en gaat over verschillende bedrijven heen, de gehele keten
wordt beheerd.
