Task 3 (P4, M2, D1)

My client for this unit is (Enter name of client here) and his main goal is to join the RAF. In order to ensure he gets into this service there is still a
little bit of room for improvement regarding his fitness. My client is currently 16 years old with a good level of fitness and has a reasonably good
diet. He doesn’t drink, smoke, vape or take any required medication. He attends college 4 times a week and he travels by train. My client’s job is
a lifeguard at his local swimming pool and he claims it is statutory for the majority of the shift, but it can vary depending on the day and how
busy it is. He currently trains 3 times a week, which mainly consists of running and a few body weight exercises with college. However, in his
questionnaire, my client states that he would like to increase that to 4-5 times a week for a 1-2-hour duration. He also mentioned that he would
prefer to train on specific days due to having work and college, so my fitness plan will be tailored around his week so it will suit his schedule.

My client has a reasonable good diet which contains a balance of all of the nutrients and he drinks plenty of water throughout the day. However,
he doesn’t track his calorie intake so I am unable to get an accurate record of how well he is eating. He doesn’t eat breakfast and he tends to
skip meals regularly. Despite my client stating in his questionnaire that his energy levels drop as the day progresses, a positive is that he doesn’t
consume any energy drinks or caffeinated drinks to resolve it. Energy drinks are often most peoples preferred solution when dealing with a lack
of energy however, it has been linked with many negative effects such as raised blood pressure and leading to sleeping disorders.

My client’s motives for wanting to improve his fitness is to reach his end goal of joining the RAF and because he generally wants to improve it. As
his trainer, I can help him reach his fitness goals through motivation and support. As a result of looking at his questionnaire, I can now tell that
my client prefers to exercise in large groups and he enjoys doing the circuit as one big group, rather than working in smaller groups or 1-1.
Although I know my client as a peer from college, when I am training him I will be more professional when speaking to him. This way I can be
more motivating and less distracting when he’s exercising. Other than his main goal of joining the RAF, he has stated his SMART goals in his
questionnaire. He wants to improve his physical appearance and improve his running. His targets for this are; to develop muscle tone, lose body
fat and improve his cardiovascular endurance. A short term goal of his is to reduce his time in the 1.5 mile runs to 12 minutes. This can be done
through practicing the run and doing other exercises that improve his cardiovascular endurance, such as swimming, cycling or even football.

There are some barriers which need to be noted when making his plan because in his questionnaire he said that there were three barriers which
sometimes stop him from exercising. These barriers are work, a lack of free time and course work. I also need to work around my client’s
schedule because apart from attending college 4 days a week, he also has a job, course work to do and he takes part in a football club, as well as
letting him to have some free time to rest.
