How the businesses use the internet
Conduct Research
One of the main ways businesses use the internet is to conduct research. The internet gives
businesses the ability to conduct a more effective research. Carrying out research is
extremely important for businesses in order to target the customers more effectively and
stay ahead of their competitors. The internet contains all types of information that
businesses can use as part of their market research. “Research methods used by Apple
include SWOT analyses, conducting consumer surveys, prototype testing and anonymous
data collection; these methods are always done internally.” Apple is the world’s largest
American Multination technology industry that designs and sells many different products
such as phones, laptops, IPads, TVs and watches. Apple was founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs
and Steve Wozniak. Apple uses the internet to perform variety of tasks, including conducting
research, carrying out customer service, promoting their brand,
providing information on products, and communicating with
customers, employees, stakeholders and suppliers.
Some of the methods Apple use to conduct research on the
internet is by carrying out online surveys. This is a form of
primary research that businesses can carry out to find out more
about their target market. One of the surveys Apple uses is the
online product feedback, in which they let customers choose a
product on their website, and write a feedback, including their
name and other details and send it to the company. This allows
Apple to understand customers, and improve the products to meet their needs. Businesses
also use the internet to research information on the competitors. Businesses can use the
internet to search the competitor’s websites and find out information, such as list of the
products they sell, what prices they charge and seeing if they offer any discounts.
Businesses can also see the financial information of their competitors. All this information
allows them to see how well the competitors are performing. Apple’s competitors include
Dell, Samsung, Microsoft, Sony, Acer and many others. All of these businesses have websites
and information on the internet; this allows Apple to find out information and data that can
be used for their research.
The British Heart Foundation is a non-for profit business sector, it is a charity organisation
that funds research to prevent different types of heart diseases. The research includes the
causes for heart diseases and the treatments. The funding
that the BHF rises also helps to improve surgical technology.
BHF has many high street shops all over the UK, such as the
ones that sell clothes, books, DVD’s and also Furniture &
Electrical stores. BHF accept donations from people and
many people help the charity by volunteering at their shops.
People also carry out fundraising events in order to raise
money for the charity. The BHF use the internet to conduct
research for many different reasons, including research
