I participated in a one to one interaction on the 05.11.2019 at Manchester College
classroom at 11:20. In the role play, I play as a midwife and my classroom colleague Carlia
plays as my pregnant patient. In the classroom was me and Carlia, 10 classroom colleagues
and my teacher Mehjabeen Shaukat. The role-play has as scenario me in the telephone
calling my patient Carlia to make an appointment. Carlia emails the clinic 1 week ago
requesting an appointment to do an ultrasound to discover the sex of her baby. She is 18
weeks pregnant. In the scenario, I call her to make the appointment. After the role-play the
class give me and Carlia some feedback in our role play.
Script - In the telephone
Dr. Smith – Good Morning, Miss Carlia. How are you doing?
Ms. Carlia – Hello, Doctor. I am fine thanks, and you?
Dr. Smith – I am good to thanks. Miss Carlia I am calling to make your next appointment.
Ms. Carlia – Alright.
Dr. Smith – Which day of the week are you available?
Ms. Carlia – Friday
Dr. Smith – Okay. In the morning or the afternoon?
Ms. Carlia – In the morning, please
Dr. Smith – is 9:30 ok?
Ms. Carlia – Yes that’s fine.
Dr. Smith – Alright done. Do you know where the clinic is?
Ms. Carlia – Actually, I don’t.
Dr. Smith – No worries, I will give you the address…The address is Delaunays Rd, Crumpsall,
Manchester, and the postcode is M8 5RB.
Ms. Carlia - Alright thank you for calling.
Dr. Smith – You are welcome. I’ll see at your next appointment.
Ms. Carlia – Ok thank you bye.

The weaknesses in my role play were that I had very poor clarification. The first
misunderstood was the doctor didn’t make sure that was speaking with the patient, Carlia.
It could be another person who may be the children answering the phone so the doctor
