In Tournus hebben ze gekozen om de druk van het tongewelf in de beuk van de abdij tegen te
werken door trekbalken.

akoestiek breekt sneller af door het opnieuw ingerichte plafond.
In Cluny II is de zelfde oplossing gehanteerd als in Tournus.
Pijler is niet hetzelfde als een pilaster. Een pilaster loopt over in de gordelboog die het tongewelf
ondersteund.
