Hoorcollege: Het hormoonstelsel
Als je dingen in je lichaam wil regelen heb je
hormonen nodig en heb je een zenuwstelsel nodig.
Het parasympatisch systeem is het rustsysteem en
die zorgt er bijvoorbeeld voor dat je scherp kunt
lezen, dat je kunt plassen, je ademhaling wordt
rustiger je hartfrequentie wordt rustiger.
We hebben twee soorten hormonen :
1. Hormonen op basis van eiwit
2. Hormonen op basis van vet
Insuline is een eiwitstructuur. Ze zijn vaak water oplosbaar
(hydrofiel). Insuline wordt door de alvleesklier uitgescheiden en die
bindt op een receptor op een andere cel. En dan zegt hij tegen de
cellen ‘neem suiker op’. Dus die cellen hebben een receptor nodig
aan de buitenkant.
Hormonen daarentegen, bijvoorbeeld testosteron , hebben een
steroïde structuur. Ze zijn lipofiel. De hormonen gaan de cel binnen en die binden pas in de cel aan
een receptor. Als ze da gebonden zijn gaat het complex naar het DNA en dan wordt er mRNA
afgelezen en dat mRNA gaat weer naar het cytoplasma en dan worden er nieuwe eiwitten gemaakt.
Dus die steroïde hormonen zorgen ervoor dat nieuwe eiwitten worden gemaakt . Het is een relatief
langzaam proces.
We hebben hormoon organen. En die
hormoon organen maken dus hormonen
en dat noemen we ook wel endocrien.
Je hebt een orgaan en die maakt een
hormoon en die geeft het af aan het
bloed en het gaat ergens anders werken.
De alvleesklier maakt endocrien insuline
en glucagon . Exocrien maakt de
alvleesklier de verteringsenzymen.
