, Hoofdstuk 1 – Externe verslaggeving
In de theorie zijn er twee soorten van informatieverschaffing, dit zijn namelijk interne- en
externe informatieverschaffingen.

Management accounting gaat over de interne informatieverschaffing. Een voorbeeld hiervan
is de managers informeren over bijvoorbeeld over afdelingscijfers.

Financial accounting is dan gericht op externe informatieverschaffing. Bij Financial
accounting spelen regels en wetten een belangrijke rol. Bij externe verslaggeving spelen
jaarverslaggeving en persberichten een centrale rol.

Wat is het verschil tussen interne en externe informatieverschaffing?
Het verschil tussen intern en extern is:
- Intern is een doorlopende stroom van informatieverschaffing, waarbij externe
informatieverschaffing juist minder regelmatig is.
- Interne informatie is zeer gedetailleerd, zo is externe informatie meer oppervlakkig.
Vaak heeft dit te maken met de concurrentiepositie van een organisatie.
- Interne informatie wordt zeer snel bekend gemaakt, terwijl externe informatie vaak
later bekend gemaakt wordt.
- Tot slot is er bij interne informatieverschaffing geen neiging tot ‘creative accounting’,
bij externe verslaggeving is dit vaak wel het geval. Hiermee kan een organisatie zich
mooier wegzetten dan het werkelijk is.

Wat centraal staat bij externe verslaggeving is de wet op de jaarrekening.
In de praktijk zijn er 3 soorten jaarrekeningen:
1. De interne jaarrekening; ten behoeve van leidinggevende.
2. De fiscale jaarrekening; ten behoeve van de fiscus.
3. De externe jaarrekening; ten behoeve van externe belanghebbende.

De laatste, de externe jaarrekening, is het draagvlak van de wet op de jaarrekening.
Een vereiste volgens de wet is het een verplichting om de resultatenrekening (w&v) en de
balans op te nemen in de jaarrekening.
