● Gesloten hersentraumata
- Lineaire versnelling ( klap op hoofd ) waarbij schedel wordt verplaatst, maar
hersenen blijven achter en botsen tegen de schedel.
- Abrupte afremming ( val ) waarbij schedel stopt, maar hersenen blijven
bewegen en tegen schedel botsen.
● Penetrerende hersentraumata
- Schotwonden
- Steekwonden
● Belangrijkste etiologie van cranio- cerebrale traumata zijn verkeersongevallen!
Commotio cerebri (=hersenschudding)
● Kortdurend bewustzijnsverlies (sec./15 min.)
● Retrograde amnesie: amnesie voor gebeurtenissen direct VOOR het ongeval.
● Anterograde amnesie = posttraumatische amnesie (PTA): amnesie voor
gebeurtenissen direct NA het ongeval.
- PTA<uur: snel herstel
● Hoofdpijn, braken, nausea(=misselijkheid) , maar geen neurologische uitval.
● Diagnose: anamnestisch/hetero-anamnestisch
● R/ observatie en rust , event. analgeticum.

● Gelijkaardige symptomatologie als commotio, maar:
- Bewustzijnsverlies ( > 15 min.)
- Amnesie ( >1 uur, duurherstel)
- Hoofdpijn, braken, nausea
- Wel neurologische uitval
● Diagnose: anamnese,KNO (=klinisch neurologisch onderzoek) ,CT-scan, EEG
● R/ rust en observatie, analgeticum
● Frequent laattijdige gevolgen.
