Paul and Mary are having behavior problems with their five-year-old son John. These
behavior problems started when Johns parents, Paul and Mary brought home their newborn baby
named Anna and some of John’s outburst consist of yelling, crying, and tendencies to hit the
parent that is tucking him in,which have made things extremely difficult during his sleep-time
routine (Grand Canyon University).If Paul and Mary were to take an authoritarian parenting style
approach to manage Johns behavior, the next time John acts out during a nap or at bedtime the
parents will punish the kid to make him conform rigidly to a set standard of conduct. When
parents have more of an authoritarian parenting style, they are more detached and less warm as
other parents and children tend to develop conduct problems(Thompson, Hollis, & Richards,
