Vitale functies: belangrijkste functies van het lichaam en essentieel voor het behoud van het leven.
Controle: ABCDE-methode
Airway --> Luchtweg
Breathing --> Ademhaling
Circulation --> Bloedsomloop
Disability --> Bewustzijn
Exposure --> Lichaamstemperatuur
Saturatie: Waarde waaruit blijkt met welk percentage (SpO2) het hemoglobine in de rode bloedcel
aan het zuurstof heeft gebonden.
Indicaties voor het meten van de saturatie
Ontwennen of afbouw van zuurstofbehandeling
Benauwdheidsklachten
Blauwe verkleuring (cyanose) van huid, vingers, nagelbed, lippen
Heel langzame of snelle pols (Bradycardie & Tachycardie)
Verandering in het bewustzijn van iemand (Bradypneu & Tachypneu)
Aandachtspunten saturatiemeting:
Warme handen bij zorgvrager, bij te koude handen kan de oorlel een optie zijn
Schone handen, dus geen nagellak of kunstnagels
Bij voorkeur de wijsvinger
Altijd aan dezelfde vinger meten
Geen andere felle lichtbron in de buurt, dit kan de meting beïnvloeden
Vinger zorgvrager stil houden tijdens de meting
Geen saturatiemeter in de buurt van een MRI- of CT-apparaat
Niet plaatsen op lichaamsdeel met bloeddrukmanchet of infuus
Saturatiewaarden:
96 - 100% Acceptabel bij gezonde mensen
92 - 100% Acceptabel bij COPD of hartfalen
< 95% Toediening zuurstof overwegen
< 90% Zuurstof moet worden toegediend
Bij minder dan 90% wordt er ook wel van desaturatie of hypoxemie gesproken. Als er zuurstoftekort
in de weefsels en organen ontstaan heet dit hypoxie
