1. ABSOLUTISME MONÀRQUIC:
• En la monarquia autoritària, el rei controlava i governava els
diferents territoris i se situava al capdavant de les institucions i de
les Corts.
• En l’absolutisme el monarca constituïa l’encarnació mateixa de
l’Estat.
• El seu poder era il·limitat, era font de llei, l’autoritat màxima de
govern i el cap de justícia.
• Els Àustria ja havien començat aquest procés de concentració de
poder durant els segles anteriors a Castella.
• En canvi, a la Corona d’Aragó, Navarra i País Basc s’havien
conservat institucions pròpies com les Corts i un cert grau de
sobirania en relació amb el poder central.
• Els Borbó va imposar el model d’absolutisme monàrquic que s’havia
implantat a França.
• Els primers Borbó espanyols, Felip V (1700-1746) van combatre les
poques limitacions que encara actuaven sobre les prerrogatives de
la Corona tot esforçant-se a enfortir el poder reial.
