1. CONVOCATÒRIA DE LES CORTS:
• Enmig del conflicte bèl.lic (1810), la Junta Central Sumprema fuig
a Cadis, l’única ciutat que encara resistia la invasió francesa amb
l’ajuda de Gran Bretanya.
• La JCS creia que Carles IV era el responsable d’aquesta situació i
van voler fer reformes per limitar el poder del monarca.
• Per dur a terme aquestes reformes, la JCS convocarà unes corts
a Cadis i s’acordaran els canvis necessaris per acabar amb l’Antic
Règim i anar cap al liberalisme.
• Finalment, si van reunir 300 diputats (liberals, moderats i
absolutistes) que van acordar que les Corts fossin unicamerals i
no estamentals, inaugurades aquestes el setembre de 1810.
• Els liberals van aconseguir un triomf important perquè van aprovar
què les Corts eren dipositàries de la Sobirania Nacional, és a dir,
que exercien el poder en representació dels ciutadans que
formaven la nació. OLA
• Van acordar també la divisió de poders (legislatiu, executiu i
judicial) i van reconèixer Ferran VII com a rei d’Espanya.
• Adquirien per tant, un caràcter revolucionari perquè superaven la
doctrina tradicional de la sobirania com a tribut reial i liquidaven
els privilegis estamentals perquè establien que tots els ciutadans
eren iguals davant la llei i tenien els mateixos drets.
