Welcome to the Sound Engineering 2A Module. This module is pitched at NQF level 6, and
carries 25 credits.
PURPOSE OF THE MODULE
This objective of this module is to introduce students to the advanced practical aspects of
sound engineering with emphasis placed on the studio environment and the procedures and
processes followed when using sound equipment for music editing and recording. Students
will gain the practical experience required to operate sound equipment and be able to record
and edit live music on completion of this module.

Introduction to this module: weekly timetabling to be explained
Learners are encouraged to continuously book individual practical sessions in the studio
to familiarise themselves with the lay-out and equipment. All group and individual
assignments must be done on campus in the allocated individual booking sessions as per
the resident Sound Engineers time-tabling. These individual booking session must not
interfere with the learners lectures throughout the week.
