are expected to use good judgment, conduct business with integrity with the interests of all
members and patients in mind. They must also be accountable for their actions. There are five
guiding principles that Kaiser Permanente utilizes in their practice such as to be fair and honest,
to excel and innovate in their professions, to respect its members, customers, patients and
peers, to improve their members health and the health of our nation and to be able to
demonstrate a commitment to the Compliance of Ethics. These pieces of important information
can be located via website on the Kaiser Permanente Compliance information tab or via the
hotline. Individuals can also speak to a union representative, a chief of service or staff, human
resources, or any compliance officer.

There are multiple polices that are for review by all employees of Kaiser that are posted and
attainable at any time. It is very apparent that the staff are responsible in taking part in
detecting and preventing waste, fraud, and abuse. They are also aware of the expectation that

for use of company property to decrease the likelihood of private patient information or any
protected information from being transmitted or hacked by any unauthorized parties.
