When an individual enters the business field, there are so many expectations that are
brought forward. Along with these expectations there are characteristics that follow that
individuals need to learn in order to become great business professionals. People that are in the
business field need to have appealing appearance, demeanor, reliability, competence, ethics, and
many more characteristics. In most cases it does take time to develop these characteristics. When
a person acquires these characteristics, they will become a great business professional.
My career path consists of a business environment. I am currently a supervisor pursuing
my Business Management Degree. With this degree I will become a business analyst. In this
career you must be proper and have attention to detail. Therefore, I chose the business
professional slides. The slides demonstrate how a business professional would dress and
represent themselves in the business profession.
, These slides showthree different attires that are represented in the business
world.“Following the dress code is not only necessary but can also change how you are
perceived by managers and customers alike.” (Business Analyst Learnings, 2019) The first slide
shows individuals that are wearing a business formal attire.With this attire men would wear
something like any color suit, mostly a dark suit with a dress shirt underneath and a silk tie. For
women, they would also wear some sort of suit with a skirt. In the second slide they are
representing a business professional attire where these individuals portray themselves in a
professional manner but do not have to wear the best clothing. For the third slide, these
individuals are portraying a business casual attire where they do not need to wear a suit, but they
also cannot wear jeans or anything like T-shirts. Along with these attires that they are presenting,
overall, all the individuals are clean cut and showing no tattoos. Women wearing earrings are
accepted. Women and men also need to take care of their personal hygiene, which in this case,
these people do. If individuals dress like this, represented in these slides, they represent what
business professionals dress like.
Although these individuals dress appropriate as a business professional there are certain
flaws that these slides carry. Being unprofessional in a business aspect will reflect on the
business and how customers will perceive the business. For example, a person crossing their
arms. There are many opinions to people having this body language. This can be portrayed as
someone who does not want to further the conversation with another individual. As a
professional they should have what is called “welcoming arms”. Being in business they
communicate with co-workers and talk to customers. For a customer to feel welcomed the
business individual needs to show their customers that they are able conversate with each other.
