Educator Interview
A good teacher is not that hard to find, but you must know where to look. Teachers have
a very important responsibility for shaping the lives of young, impressionable children. I had the

opportunity to interview an amazing educator. There are many roles, qualities, and strategies
that comprise an effective teacher. I choose to interview a high school teacher because I wanted
to get another high school teacher's perspective while I’m still deciding whether I want to

James B. Dudley High located in Guildford County, North Carolina. She teachers grade ten and

Guilford County established in 1929 during segregation. Mrs. Freeman has been teaching for
eight years and she’s been teaching six years at Dudley High School.

education and her role with her students. She stated, that education can be the key to equity. So
many students witness their parents and loved ones become disparaged by poverty. As her role as
an educator, she leans into students who fit this profile because their appetite for change is so
