Physical hazards in a home




Noise:

Noise is a hazard because to affects a person hearing temporary or permanently. It happens when
a person is exposed to high level of noise. Even though hearing loss is a thing in late adults it is not
to the extend where they can’t hear anyone speaking.

late adults hearing is far more sensitive than of a young person’s hearing as their mentally and
sensory change as they’ve aged.

Apart from effecting the hearing things that can contribute/ that are joined to cause harms to the
hearing loss is, things such as:

Communication problem:

communication problems cause hearing loss because when there’s high level of noise two people
who are trying to communicate won’t be able to hear each other and each person may need to get
closers to the ear whiles shouting for the other person they’re talking to hear clearly. This causes
harm because firstly there’re shouting in the ear whiles closer which gives a higher chance of the
person getting a temporary hearing loss due to the shouting whiles there’s high level of noise

effects someone’s sleep:

effect someone’s sleep noise can affect someone’s seep because in the brain there’s an organ that
sense danger, so having someone who’s sleeping exposed to noise they can have a sudden shock
and wake up this can cause high blood pressure because of the suddenly waking up and can feel
restless or unrested.

Temperature:

Temperature is a hazard because our bodies have a certain amount of
temperature our body should be working at if these temperatures become too
much or too less we start to get ill(sick), things that are cohesion to cause
harms to an individual in a home care are: things such as:

, Heat cramps:

Heat cramps is harm are when the muscles spasms due to exercising in hot weather, it creates
cramp in abdominal arms calves and many more.

Heat exhaustion:

Is harm because it can cause a person to get heatstroke a life-threatening condition that occurs
when your body temperature reaches a certain amount or reaches an even higher temperature
than your normal body temperature that causes damage to a vulnerable person brain and organs
that can lead to death.

Light(poor):




Poor lightening (SPAG) is a hazard because it led an individual misjudging
objects, position of things, the speed, the height and many more due to poor lightening.

Can also lead to health hazards because too much or too little of lightening causes harms to a
person. Harms that poor lightening could cause are:

Flickering lights-eye strains and headache:

Flickering lights is a harm because it can easily cause eye strain because the brain works with the
eyes if a person was to be exposed to a flickering light, they’re eyes would get sore because the
brain isn’t processing what’s going on.

e.g.:

could lead to eyes strains because if one screen is lighter than the other it may chance the work it
should normally be worsen and may slowly worsen an individual in the home care or employees’
eyes.

Space:

Space is a hazard because if a room had lots of boxes in a home care, books everywhere curtains
shut it would crate heat and there would be no oxygen in the room for workers and service users
to breath due to the room containing top much things. Because of confined space can cause may
harm and some of these harms are:
