explain the meaning of nurse burnout, the impacts of burnout upon nurses and patients, and

Library, using the EBSCO database. The keyword used for the search were “nurse burnout,”
“job dissatisfaction,” “nurse,” “job performance,” “absenteeism,” and “fatigue.” The limiting
factors were that the database was peer-reviewed and published within the last five years.
Article One
The article, “Registered Nurse Burnout, Job Dissatisfaction, and Missed care in Nursing
Home,” is published by White et al. (2019). The objective of this study is to examine the
relationship between registered nurse burnout, missed care, and job dissatisfaction in the nursing
home. The author surveyed a random sample of nurses in four different states. The survey shows
that the nurses with burnout were five times more likely to finish the job with necessary care
undone. The burnout nurses had higher rates of job dissatisfaction in all aspects of the job. The
study entails that missed care is more common among nurses with high burnout and often
unable to complete the needed nursing task, mostly due to inadequate time or resources (White
et al.,
2019). This information is important because nurse burnout is affecting the provision of
quality of care.
