Origin → medial epicondyle of humerus
Insertion → bases of 2nd and 3rd metacarpals
Action → flexion & abduction of wrist (radial deviation)
PALMARIS LONGUS
Origin → medial epicondyle of humerus
Insertion → palmar aponeurosis
Action → weak flexion of wrist, tenses skin of palm
FLEXOR DIGITORUM SUPERFICIALIS
Palmar
Origin → medial condyle of humerus
o Ulnar head - medial coronoid area
o Radial head - radial tuberosity area
Insertion → split tendons attach to the sides of the middle phalanx of the four fingers
(palmar surface)
Action → flexion of elbow, wrist & fingers
