activity. Lastly, when everyone participates, there will be much less hassle since the
garbage needed to be collected by the garbage collectors is decreased significantly.
II. PROJECT RATIONALE
The rationale of this project is to generate additional money for the barangay
while doing an environmentally-friendly activity. It also aims to train the barangay's
residents to be disciplined and mindful of their waste generation at home. The project is
based on the landfill near the neighborhood, which is notorious for its pollution and foul
scent. Additionally, the said barangay is near the city of Malolos, Bulacan, which may
have indirectly caused pollution to its residents due to its rapid development in the past
few years. Lastly, this project is significant since it will help the residents develop
discipline and receive a percentage money cut for every sold eco-brick. The residents in
the area can also improve and achieve unity, thus improving the quality of life in their
community as well.
III. PROJECT BENEFICIARIES
The beneficiaries of the said project are the following:
Barangay Residents – The barangay residents will be the project's primary driving
force. If every resident fully participates, waste generation will be reduced
significantly, and overall quality of life will improve.
Barangay officials – They will be in charge of continuing the project once it has
been launched in the community. Moreover, they will be the ones to collect the
residents' eco-bricks and sell them to various eco-brick companies. Furthermore,
after the eco-bricks are sold, they will be the ones to distribute the percentage
money cut to the residents. Eventually, this project will benefit them because it
will increase the barangay's funds, which can be used for other community
projects.
V. PROJECT OBJECTIVES
To generate additional money for the barangay while reducing the waste
generated.
To improve the quality of life of the barangay residents by providing alternative
ways of income and reducing waste generated inside of the community.
To develop discipline, harmony, and unity in every barangay resident and
officials.
To reduce the overall level of pollution of the barangay in terms of land, water,
and air pollution.
