It was a written assessment
1.States should consider incorporating into the national law norms
proscribing abuses of power and providing remedies to victims of
such abuses. Victims are robbed of these principles by criminals and
courts are there to wrong that has happened. The law will ensure
these principles are applied and the victim can be rest assured that
the system will restore respect and dignity and provide them
assurance the people or person before the court will be tried and
reprimanded for their actions. In the Criminal Justice System, every
victim should be treated with values of humanities such as respect,
care, compassion, love, solidarity, sharing, reconciliation, and
reciprocity. The principles of Ubuntu is not about what is right, it is
about what is ethical to do. The problem solving in Ubuntu is slightly
different from other philosophies. In Ubuntu, we should get always
have a broad picture, for example, when a person travels, he/she may
not have house to stay all the time. Applying Ubuntu to victims of a
system is as likely as trying to apply Christianity, Islam or Buddhism to
any given victim. Because of the diversity of victims, the extent of
injury, the age, culture and so many other factors and the origin
African Culture, perhaps those victims who related to their African
roots my take solace there.
