Enterprise in the business world:

Title: factors and trends

Learning aim a: know how trends and current business environment may impact on a business

Part two: my local start up business

In this report I will be planning my local start-up business to mind map every detail in order to identify
aims, objectives and target market to know the exact production line. My local café and cake shop;
business is known as PINK. The business provides a menu of cakes, fresh daily pastries and a group of
hot and cold drinks. Pink local business targets both genders students and workers from 16 to 60 years
old. My target market will find my shop the first place to go to study or work in the area provided.

2A.P1. Outline how the business environment can impact on a startup business:

A-A national factor is a factor that is related to national area and economy, so it affects the whole
country. These factors may impact business either negatively or positively. Government support can be
presented financially. For example, a grant is a form of government financial support as it is helping
payment given to starting businesses while operating. Grants are government loans that do not need to
be paid back unlike the deposit. Therefore, it will benefit the business as they don’t have to be
distressed about repayments and interest which would have been an additional cost if you took a bank
loan. Unlike where you must pay a bank loan or sell your own share to have a source of money.

b-economic factors: economic factors include all the activities in a country concerned with
manufacturing goods and services. My Pink start up local business can be affected by the economy.
Furthermore, if the price rises for any reason the growth might be affected because I will need to pay
more to provide the resources that I need such as flour, sugar, milk... this might increase their total costs
and decrease the number of services they produce which as they pay more money for fewer resources
which will decrease the footfall.

2A.M1. Explain how changes in the current business environment are likely to impact on a startup
business.

If for any reason the national factors had any change it will negatively affect my start up local business.
For example, grants are not paid back now but if they change and become paid back my business will
need to save from its own profit and revenue to pay it back. Furthermore, if the prices get affected by
the economy this means I will be paying more costs which decreases the profit. And the same effect will
happen if any change happens to the needs of my target market.

2A.P2. explain how current trends will impact on a startup business:

The trend is a general direction or something popular. The countries issues are one of the trends that
might affect my business. I am used to getting my resources from a wholesale store outside of London as
I can get a large amount and, at a lower price, so less cost is paid. However, during the lack of petrol I
couldn’t bring all the required resources and in order not to lose revenue or customers I needed to rent
a special transport truck to get them which meant that I needed money to pay which increased my total
cost.
