You need to write a report in which you analyse the project
you have completed looking at the project management
skills and behaviours you applied and how effective they
were. You should also make recommendations for the

Introduction-
I have recently been recruited by a new software development company. Having completed
your first project, the supervisor has asked me to analyse how the management of the
project went.
Project management Skills were used-
There are a range of different skills I have used in this project to ensure I meet the client
requirements and everything will go according to the plan. The skills I have used are-
● Project management
● Creative thinking
● Problem solving
● Decision making
● Planning
● Risk management
● Time management
● Communicating
● Technical
These are the skills I have used on the project
Below I will include in which part of the project I used these skills
Task Skill type
Understanding the scenario and client brief Problem solving
Researching Problem solving
Organising the tasks Time management
Creating MS project Time management
Using right methodology Project management
Flow chart Creative thinking
Storyboard design Creative thinking
Getting feedback for the design Communication
Creating the program Technical
Testing Problem solving
Getting feedback for the actual program Communication
Providing documentation Communication
Some of the tasks contains more than one skills type such as testing which includes problem
solving skills along with technical skills
I believe these skills helped me to finish my overall program, such as time management
helped me to keep a track on my work. I knew what to do and by when, I created 7 different
, versions of the Project planning. I tried to use my project planning skills effectively such as
by using gantt charts it helped me to know what's going on with my project, firstly I break my
project into manageable tasks which helped me keep a track on them. Not only that I had
start and finish dates for each of them so that I know when I should start the task and when I
should finish it. I also added a feature that shows how many days I took on each task which
was beneficial as I know if I’m taking too long on anything. Furthermore, I also used the
Predecessors field that lists the task ID numbers for the predecessor tasks on which the task
depends before it can be started or finished. It helped me to know that I should finish other
tasks before doing this one. This helped me to finish each task on time.
If I didn’t use this I wouldn’t have anything to track my work. I would probably forget some
tasks or miss deadlines. I would just carry on one task for too long. I could have run out of
time in the end but Project planning helped me to plan this, it didn’t take much time I was
able to sort the tasks out and do the work based on the plan.
Furthermore, for project management I used Agile methodology as it involved regular
feedback with the client. This is a way to help me improve my program and I think I have
used it effectively. I followed the Agile methodology phases such as requirement gathering, I
gathered all the information and what they wanted from the project. Here I used my problem
solving skills, then I did the designing of my model. I used flow diagrams, 3 different designs
to get the best design out of 3. Then I got some feedback which involved communication
skills and I think it reduced the risks as I had regular feedback from my clients. Then I
created my model and then did the testing and got some feedback from my clients. Then did
any improvements and then testing again and lastly handed it to my client. Without the
project management skill I wouldn't be able to finish my project successfully as it reduces
risk associated with the project as my clients also involve giving me continuous feedback
which helped me develop the actual model.
Also, my project followed a software development life cycle. First thing I did was planning,
such as planning the tasks, Conduct feasibility study in economics, technical, operational
area so that it can be followed to implement my project successfully and minimising any risks
that may occur while developing the project. Furthermore I created success criteria,
constraints. I did this to set a goal and at the end I know that I fulfilled it. Next step was to
find client requirements, what they want from me and how I am going to do it. In order to do
this, first I read over the client brief a few times to understand and then I made a list of what
needs to be done and what they want from me. Third phase was designing. This is where I
did 3 designs of the user interface, then I picked the best one that is suitable for my clients. I
made the decision by myself. But I wanted to get feedback from my client so I got some
feedback about the designs. I did this because I can’t rely on myself as it’s for my clients. I
have to make sure they are happy with the design. And then I went into developing the
actual model, based on the final design. The next thing I followed was testing my model. I
did a test plan on the design phase and then here I tried to check if I got the expected result
and it worked successfully. I also sent it to my client to get feedback and make sure they
were happy with it and it ran as it was supposed to. As my project methodology is Agile it
involves the client. That's why in each phase I got feedback from them, then I made any
improvements based on the feedback such as if any functions were not working, or any
calculations were wrong. I did this to improve my model. Then I followed the life cycle again
and created my second prototype based on the feedback then did the development and the
