international business, thereby developing scholarly understanding of the subject area. The review
should be no more than 2,000 words (+/- 10%) and will be completed on an individual basis.

Part 2 Group Presentation – 25%
This will comprise of a ten-minute group presentation (groups will be finalized by the end of week
2) to take place in week 8.
Task: Assume the role of an international consulting team working for government agency
that is seeking to develop new international market opportunities for an industry/sector of
your choice between UK and another country. Students are encouraged to select a UK
based company/Industry/Sector and compare to another country (home country).
Using the Cage Model (presented in week 1), your presentation will focus on:
The distance (actual/perceived) between your selected country with UK highlighting the
opportunities and challenges for your chosen industry/sector.
Each member of the group is expected to contribute fully to the development of the group
presentation and perform an element of the presentation.
Note: 25% of each student’s cumulative assessment in the group work shall be based on his or
her individual contribution. A peer review system will be used, with peer assessments of
student contributions to the group assignment used to modify individual marks. Students

Part 3 Reflection – 15%
Reflection of Learning
Students will be required to complete an individual reflection of their learning approach on this
task. The purpose of this reflection is to make regular notes about your engagement and
contribution to both individual and group tasks and to reflect on how you participated as a learner
through the module. In particular it is important to reflect on what you would do differently if
approaching the task again.
Points to Note: For the purpose of this task you will be expected to document weekly activities.
Structure it in a way that is easily read.
