What is FGM (Femle Genital Mutilation)?
There are 4 classifications in how FGM is categorised
Type 1 is the least intrusive
Type 3 is most intrusive and extreme
Over 200 million girls worldwide have undergone FGM.

The practice is normally carried out by women. They have no medical training.

“Cutting season” girls (around 14 years of age) who are in the UK, during
the summer holidays, they are flown abroad on the pretence that they are
going on a holiday to have FGM.
