This is a distinction awarded assignment.

"TLC is a highly versatile separation method that is widely used to analyse a variety of substance classes, including pesticides, steroids, alkaloids, lipids, nucleotides, carbohydrates, and fatty acids. In this technique it will be used to analyse plant pigments and amino acids. Components of a mixture will be identified using chromatographic techniques and by calculating the retention factor value, unknown solutions can be identified. Thin layer ch...
This is a distinction awarded assignment about the personal review (Aim D) for the Unit 2 in the first year of L3 Applied Science Btec.

"As I was homeschooled I did not have access to a laboratory, nor did I complete any secondary school science experiments. All my experience is from home chemistry kits and researching history’s scientists. Unit 2 was a steep learning curve for me, and many new skills have been learnt and developed in a short time span. Research has aided my growth and I ...
Unit 5 in Applied Science focuses on electrolysis, an essential chemical process with numerous practical applications in various industries, including metallurgy, energy production, and materials science. This unit explores the principles, techniques, and real-world applications of electrolysis.
Aluminium, a lightweight and resistant to corrosion metal with a wide range of industrial and consumer applications, is the subject of Unit 5 in Applied Science. Students will investigate the qualities, manufacturing methods, and numerous applications of aluminium in sectors such as engineering, building, transportation, and packaging during this course. They also learn about the environmental and sustainability implications of aluminium consumption.
Provides a full guide and example of Unit 8b Biology assignment . It is a scientific journal of a made-up patient suffering with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It provides a whole reference list and images. As well as a whole example which was graded a distinction
Unit 4a Chemistry. You have to provide a health & safety poster in science organisations. For this assignment I compared my college to a lab (ALS). This was a distinction level piece of work.
