sociology?

about.

, 7. Keep reviewing it – check for spelling errors, make sure the pictures and links

Outline of Presentation
Introduction
 Introduce everyone in the group
 Say what you are setting out to do here
 Provide an email address or WhatsApp group to invite responses and feedback
from the audience.

Body
 Take the funnel approach
 Don’t rush it
 Visual aids – video or a photograph

Conclusion
 You should never introduce new materials in the conclusion
 Provide a recap
 Thank the audience
 Provide them with a means of feeding back to you

Structure (skills)
 Each points leads naturally onto the next point
 Keep asking yourself what the key points are that you are trying to get across to
the audience.
 Clarity – how are you going to be clear to the audience? Diagrams are a good
way.
 Link between social theory and practice – relevant data, sample, citation to
capture what you are trying to say.
 Don’t go into too much micro detail
 Provide an overview of what you have managed to achieve in your presentation
 It’s about persuading the audience that you know what you are talking about
 You are to produce a convincing argument

Structure (timing)
 Be mindful that videos can take up a lot of time!
 Timing can go wrong when you try to incorporate too much!
 Consider how much the audience can take in
 Practice is key!
 Think what isn’t necessary
