1. Geef in je eigen woorden definities voor One Health en voor Veterinary Public Health.
One health: interdisciplinaire gezondheid (één continuüm, de verschillende groepen lopen in elkaar
over). Oftewel diergezondheid, mensgezondheid en milieugezondheid in samenhang.
Veterinary Public Health: het toepassen van de diergeneeskunde om de gezondheid en het welzijn
van de mens te waarborgen/beschermen.
2. Licht toe welke One Health / VPH thema’s terugkomen in de afbeelding op blackboard (titel: foto
wc 1). Noem minstens 4 thema’s en licht toe wat de One Health/ VPH aspecten zijn van de thema’s.
- Vliegen veel vogels rond, die kunnen
defeceren over alle moestuinen/akkers/stallen
(o.a. aviaire influenza).
- City farming (ieder een eigen moestuintje)
- Gracht (gebruikt als bron voor water om te
drinken/besproeien van de tuinen; er wordt in
gevist; echter ook een plek waar veel vuil in
komt).
3. Vanuit welke functies kun je als dierenarts werken aan One Health / VPH? Licht toe.
Als praktiserend dierenarts kun je naast het behandelen van dieren ook bijdragen aan de gezondheid
van de mens (d.m.v. goede ontworming van de dieren en bestrijding van zoönosen) en van het milieu
(GVP zorgt voor het vermijden van residuen van diergeneesmiddelen).
Bij de NVWA (controle op slachtdieren, voedselkwaliteit etc.).
