Conception and Pregnancy
When the egg meets the sperm cell that has
made its way into the fallopian tube, it
combines into one cell, a process that's
known as fertilization or conception. This
would have taken place when Irmelin
Indenbirken and George DiCaprio
conceived Leonardo Dicaprio.

Physical
Whilst Leonardo was developing
inside of his mother’s womb he would
have grown ankles, wrists, fingers
and eyelids. Later on bones would
have appeared, and the genitals and
inner ear would begin to develop.
Bones and muscles begin to develop
further, buds for future teeth
appear.The intestines begin to form
and the skin is almost transparent.




Intellectual
As a fetus in the womb, Leonardo would
be slowly intellectually developing. His
brain and nervous system would have
begun to develop. He would have
become aware of some things outside of the womb. For example, Leonardo’s parents
would have spoken to him whilst he was still inside the womb, hearing these voices so
often, he would have easily become familiar with them and recognized them even at
birth.

Infancy (0-3 years)




Physical
At this age Leonardo DiCaprio’s gross motor skills would have developed and he would
be able to control his larger muscles in his body. He would develop the ability to roll
over, crawl which would later lead on to walking. He would also be able to grasp
objects. He would gain control his fine motor skills. By the ages of two and three he
would be able to point and hold cutlery securely.

Intellectual
At this age Leonardo would be able to respond the world around him through his
senses. His ability to think would have developed hugely by the age of two, he would
use language and have the ability to have some comprehension of what is going on
around him. He would be able to respond to cold, hunger and pain by crying. He would
begin to recognise surroundings and become aware of people.

Emotional
During his first two years of life, Leonardo would be developing the bond with those who
care for him (his mother and father) as he grows up this bond will become stronger. He
would also be able to show when he was enjoying himself by smiling/laughing. At this
age he would also be able to show anger and distrust. At this stage of his life it would
have been very important for Leonardo to form a strong attachment to his parents and
receive love and attention,this would have allowed him to build up a healthy and
trustworthy relationship with his main carers.
