foundation is their pledge to operate with honesty and integrity. Walmart’s company beliefs are:

The vision of Walmart is to endorse ownership of the company’s ethical culture to all who take
part in their company worldwide.
Walmart is a global company with approximately 2.2 million employees. Walmart is
owned by the Walton family. The main Walmart hub where the headquarters are is located in
Bentonville, Arkansas. Walmart is the largest employer in the world in the private sector They
also are one of the largest companies in the world based on the amount of revenue they make
each year. They are even on the Fortune 500 global list. The code of ethics that Walmart has

, Walmart looks as though they are extremely socially responsible. The responsibility of
corporate is outline in several different sections of the policy and is all encompassing. Ethical
labor practices, harassment and discrimination, environmental responsibility, product and food
safety, community relations, and health and safety in the workplace are all included. Employees
are given clear instructions on who is covered by each statement of ethics and each of the
employee’s responsibilities. Colleagues are encouraged to report when they see ethical violations
being made. They are also given a step-by-step process on how to do so. There is also a policy to
help those who report violations against retaliation. Actions of an illegal nature are not tolerated
by Walmart. Illegal activities include corruption, money laundering, insider

Walmart’s code of ethics goes over rules that are mandated by law. Because they are a
worldwide company; the code of ethics is universal no matter what the location. However, each
department or unit is expected to create policies that better reflect where they are working.
Operations of the company are expected to abide by many different rules and regulations
throughout the world. Because of this, employees are expected to abide by the local laws, as well
as the custom and culture. If there is ever a local conflict, Walmart has a division that handles
global ethics that would help guide the employees how to navigate the situation and apply the
statement of ethics. If an employee calls into the ethics division, it will be confidential and
anonymous. This will encourage employees to ask question if need be without any worry. The
code of ethics is compliant with legal mandates.
