Benchmark—Gospel Essentials
Over the years, every individual as their own understanding of their own personal
worldview to establish an assumption of something much bigger than they are. The ideas
established from an individual is what helps structure our perspective of a worldview.
Christianity has shown to be the most common religion/belief system that has shaped a
foundation in being able to believe in something, someone greater than ourselves. Through
Christianity many people find it as a way to accept Jesus in their daily lives, as well as giving
them a greater purpose. Being able to establish purpose, peace, love, and much more in a
person’s life. In this paper, I will demonstrate my understanding of the Christian Worldview
through the nature of God, nature of humanity, and the nature of Jesus.
Nature of God
The Triune God, which is also known as the Trinity is the belief that God exists in three
persons as one. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Not meaning there are
three different Gods but rather the same God in three different aspects/persons. Each being fully
God, not one more than the other. Gods’ characteristics are shown all throughout the bible, being
shown as the sovereign creator. With that being, God is a sustainer and creator of all things. God
is the true “ruler” worthy of being worshipped and praised upon (Adegbola, M. A., 2015). God is
also shown throughout the bible to be omnipresent, external (human), omnipotent, and most
importantly unchanging. In addition, through communicable attributes God is loving, just, good,
faithful, and holy. The creation of God is shown in the bible Genesis 1 and 2, making himself
, known through the creation of mankind in his own image and speaking the earth into existence
(Hamilton M. S., 2017). Through the creation of mankind and Earth God has revealed himself to
humanity. With that being, making it apparent that his nature towards humanity is through his
creation.
Nature of Humanity
Human nature is the deception of seeing the world in one’s personal aspect, rather than
how God intended us to see the world as. Our human nature was purified in the beginning, later
changing to a rather more sinful nature. Adam and Eve were the first to start the rebellion
through human nature (Blount J., 2020). The moment Jesus Christ is received as a savior, the
sinful nature bestowed on humanity is renewed by the Holy Spirit. God created humanity for
them to be loved by God and to be able to glorify him in all his greatness. Just as we receive
love, we are meant to give love to others as well. In the bible, John 4:19 states “we love because
he first loved us.” The root cause of human problems is the idea of being able to idolize and
worship “false Gods”, as well as addiction, whether it is drugs, alcohol, or anything that
overrules God’s authority. The Law of God is consistently being disobeyed and distorted in the
history of Israel and mankind. Being able to turn falsehood into their own personal reality. False
idolization and worship are the cause of distorting creation by not being able to see passed their
personal beliefs to see the light in the glory of God.
Nature of Jesus
Jesus true identity is the established through the Trinity. Jesus is the Son of God, Messiah, and
Savior. Our sins are what lead to the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. For instance, in Cor 5:17-
18 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the
