Climate change is defined as a public health emergency on the website of the American
Public Health Association (APHA). The American Public Health Association is concerned about
climate change and the affects it is having on globalization. The new legislation, titled “The
Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change: Policy Brief for the United States if
America,” declared that drastic changes in the global climate poses a threat to the global
population’s well-being (APHA, 2019). As a part of the landmark Paris Agreement, many
countries included the United States came together and agreed to reduce the exposure of
environmental factors into the climate. Through this agreement the United States has worked
diligently on making sure we keep our part of the agreement. The United States has worked to
decrease the amount of carbon dioxide that is released into the air by changing the amount of
carbon dioxide that is caused from humans. The goal is by the year 2100, that the global
temperature is decreased by 3.7 degrees Fahrenheit. The United States and other countries that
were present have also agreed to do what it takes to make this goal attainable.
Countries that are continually developing and improving their countries agreed to spend
roughly 100 billion dollars to the United Nations’ Green Climate Fund (GCF). The Green
Climate Fund is a fund that helps developing countries manage secretions as this will help fight
the climate change that is continually occurring. When Obama was in office, this deal was made
and he agreed that the United States would uphold their part of the bargain. However, once
President Trump took office, the government demanded that the United States cancel their end of
