This report will review and analyze my personal food choices by comparing the nutritional
value of what I ate to the recommended daily intake amounts. A website called Cronometer was
able to calculate my daily nutritional intake totals of energy, macronutrients, and micronutrients
based on a 2600 calorie diet. I also used a printout from MyPlate to side by side compare what I
ate in a day by the five different food groups such as fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and
dairy. The goal was to examine how much by measurement I consumed in the hopes of meeting
the recommended targets listed.
Fruits: Unfortunately, on this particular day I did not consume any fruit, which is rare for me. I
usually have a piece of fruit with breakfast or as a snack. Therefore I did not reach my target of 1
½ cups of fruit per day.
Vegetables: As for vegetable group consumption, I did not quite meet the target of 2 ½ cups.
I first consumed 1 cup of air fryer french fries for lunch and then I had green beans, red
peppers, and onions that were a part of a stir fry dish that I made for dinner. Because it had
other ingredients outside of vegetables I am sure that unless I had eaten 2 bowls full it made it
harder
to reach the recommended amount. I love salads but not big on eating vegetables with my
meals. Some of the time I will drink a green juice powder to help substitute the vegetables in my
diet. I need to work on including more fresh vegetables in my daily diet.
