BUS 322
Assignment #1
BUS 322
What makes a great company a place where everyone wants to work for? A place where
people can see their careers and their personal goals grow every day. People often look for job
security, but sometimes there is more to that. There are the chances and opportunities, not every
company offers, but the ones that do hold their employees in the long run. That is the company
where everyone wants to be, that is the company where I would like to be. A lot of people also
think about their dreams and ambitions and to be part of an ideal company. To have amazing
work conditions, extraordinary salaries, and opportunity for advancement and work
development. Amazon is one great example. This multimillion-dollar company grows and grows
every day, making it by far one of the best companies to work for by young professionals and
one of the companies that are used the most by consumers worldwide and especially here in the
United States.
Organizational Environment analysis
The Amazon organization is based on different fundamentals and one major key to the
fundamental driving forces is its global marketplace. Amazon is in the leads with any of its
competitors. This organization develops pretty quickly by far. “With Amazon Global Selling,
you can list and sells products on any of the marketplaces in North America, Europe, and Asia.”
(Amazon Seller Central) Amazon is very different from other companies as they are mainly
online retail manufacture. Proving an unlimited number of products for consumers, big and small
companies. For example electronics, apparel, home improvement equipment's miscellaneous
items, and many more.
, Their workforce diversity is impressive too and by far one to lead by example. This worldwide
company has a huge diversity of employees that work in the corporate world and also in the
field. Having diversity in the workplace is very important as you are dealing with multiple
people that have multiple backgrounds. To easily understand their background, having
individuals that can relate can help business growth. Amazon’s reputation only increases as it
continues to take over the world. Amazon's workplace diversity has also helped them
tremendously with increasing creativity, being able to have a faster problem-solving turn around,
and having a great company reputation.
Another fundamental force for companies and especially for Amazon is their ethics and morality
towards employees and their customers. “Amazon promotes a safe and healthy workplace free of
harassment and danger, promoting the freedom for employees to perform their duties
unhindered.” (Amazon Business Portfolio) All employees who know the difference between
right and wrong and always chooses the right have morals. Quite hard to find for some
employees. Having morality and ethics can sometimes be a lifestyle as not everyone is willing to
do it.
Amazon’s technological innovation only grows as every day goes by. This company has
completely changed our lives with some of the advantages they give to their consumers. For
Example Prime and Prime now. They are continually working on shipping as fast as they can to
customers, this is extremely useful for some people that do not always have the time. For a small
fee of $7.99 you can get a hold of numerous items in a two hour to even an hour turns around.
Company’s specific policies
Effective policies should always outline what an employee should or should not do when they
are at the job. A lot of Amazon’s policies may vary by program, like "privacy, electronic
communications, copyrights, trademarks, patens, license access, and many others." (Amazon)
