Unit IV Essay

Introduction

Red tape is an expression that suggests laws or observance of official norms or values that

are deemed to be overbearing, stiff, or repetitive, or to a bureaucracy thought to obstruct or

prohibit activity or decision-making It's a term that's frequently applied to characterize

governments., businesses, and other key administrations. Completing paperwork, obtaining

permissions, having many people or committees validate a judgment, and a variety of low-level

processes that make conducting operations longer more complicated, or both are examples of

"red tape." Performance of an organization and employee well-being have been proven to be

hampered by red tape. Usually, red tape is produced by a variety of issues spanning from

inadequate management abilities, a lack of formal processes, bad procedural design, minimal

control of process performance, to workers simply failing to follow protocols. The phrase

"cutting red tape" often alludes to the removal of administrative impediments to progress (Gore,

1993). It is sometimes used as a justification for lowering or eliminating protective guidelines or

regulations.

It is no secret that the Trump administration had its ups and downs. This being said,

however, one of the areas where it managed to flourish was on the reduction of government red

tape. The hefty cost put on job creators by superfluous, obsolete, and duplicative laws is one of

the most overlooked reasons for economic stagnation. Washington's red tape not only suppresses

progress but also levies tremendous expenses and inefficiencies in providing the modern

infrastructure and advancements that the USA so desperately needs. President Donald Trump

enacted an Executive Order imposing a two-for-one regulatory obligation on January 30, 2017.
