Abstract

When choosing a career in real estate it is essential to know exactly what you want and

further research that area. The first step would be making an informed decision about going

forward with the process. Unlike what the social media platforms tells us, being a real estate

agent requires more than a leap of faith. A successful real estate career is not built overnight but

with consistency, hard work, and lots of patience. It is important to understand real state is a

risky business are it is rewarding.


Even though it is not a requirement understanding the different types of real states, it helps to

be successful in the field. The different real estate areas included real estate agents, brokers,

appraisal, and compliance specialist. A person like me might prefer to focus on residential

properties because finding the right home for my clients would increase my job satisfaction.

Last but not least, an individual must research real state licensure requirements based on the

state she/he plan to work in. Individuals and/or entities who would like to make a career out of

real estate must obtain licensure. The requirements and the process of obtaining real estate

licensure defers in most states. The path of becoming licensed in real estate differs state to

state.

, Most state real estate licensure process is not complicated. As a Virginia resident I will explain

the requirements to obtain real estate licensure in this paper.




The two common real estate areas I am going to discuss are real estate broker and real

estate agents. Virginia real estate commission clearly explains about the process of getting real

estate license in Northern Virginia. The process of gaining real estate broker license starts from

completing application. According to an Agency of the Commonwealth Virginia, the real estate

board ensures and approves the individual completes all the required courses. The fist

requirement to become real estate broker in the state of Virginia is 180 credit hour class

completion.( an Agency of the Commonwealth Virginia, 2021). These 180 clock hour

education must be real estate board approved.


In order to be considered a broker applicant must also pass the state and national exam.

According to pre Agent the real estate broker exam usually takes up to an hour and 40

minutes. (Pre Agent, 2021). The state question are 50 in total and one must answer at least 35

to pass the exam. On the other side the national portions




consists of 80 question that should be completed. An individual taking the test must answer 60

questions correct to pass the exam. In addition, the state portion allows 55 minutes while the

national portion must be completed within 105 minutes. According to the current information I
