ANG SULIRANIN AT ANG KALIGIRAN NITO
Panimula
Malaki ang impluwensiyang naidudulot ng panitikan sa buhay ng tao,
sapagkat nagagawa nitong mamulat at mabago ang ideya, paniniwala at maging
ang pananaw ng mga mambabasa na siyang nagbubunsod sa lalong ikatataguyod
ng ating lipunan. Nakaangkla ito sa sinabi ni Dr. Zeus Salazar na ang panitikan
ang siyang lakas na nagpapakilos sa alinmang uri ng lipunan. Kung gayon, walang
partikular na uri ng taong binabanggit si Salazar sa pariralang “lakas na
magpapakilos sa lipunan” dahil kahit sino ay maaaring makapagpakilos –
mayaman man o mahirap, babae man o lalaki at kahit maging bata ay maaaring
magkaroon ng ambag sa pag-unlad ng lipunan gamit ang panitikan. Kaya’t
mahalaga na bata pa lamang ay malinang na sa kanila ang pagbabasa ng mga
panitikan gaya ng panitikang pambata.
Ayon sa libro nina Lynch-Brown, C. & Tomlinson, C. (2005) na “Essentials
of Children’s Literature”, ang panitikang pambata ay isang mabisang babasahin
sapagkat nakapaloob dito ang mga makabuluhang paksa na kinahihiligan ng mga
bata. Binigyan ito ng mas malinaw na pagpapaliwanag nina Batnag at Petras
(2009) na “ang panitikang pambata ay puno ng aksyon, gumigising sa
imahinasyon, nakatutugon sa kawilihan ng mga bata, may mga tauhang kilala ng

mga bata o makauugnay sa mga bata, nagtuturo ng kagandahang asal at
moralidad nang hindi tahasan o tuwiran.” Samakatuwid, ang panitikang pambata
ay kinakailangang nakapupukaw sa interes ng mga bata at nagtataglay ng mga
makabuluhang paksa upang makapaghatid ng aral na magagamit ng bata sa
kanyang lipunan.
Sa ngayon, ang panitikan gaya ng panitikang pambata o kuwentong
pambata ay ginagamit na lunsarang teksto sa pagtuturo ng mga aralin sa pormal
na paaralan. Bago ang kasalukuyang Programang Pang-edukasyon na K to 12
Kurikulum, marami sa mga pantikan ang nakasulat sa wikang Filipino at Ingles
dahil ito ang midyum na ginagamit ng guro sa pagtuturo, ngunit dahil sa
pagkakaroon ng Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE),
kinakailangan ngayong maglimbag o magsalin ng mga akda na nakasulat sa iba
pang pangunahing wika sa Pilipinas.
Ayon sa Batayang Kurikulum ng programang Mother Tongue-Based
Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE), nilahad nito na:
“MTB-MLE is education, formal or non - formal, in which the
learner’s mother tongue and additional languages are use in the
classroom. Learners begin their education in the language they
understand best - their mother tongue - and develop a strong
foundation in their mother language before adding additional
languages. Research stresses the fact that children with a solid
foundation in their mother tongue develop stronger literacy abilities
in the school language. Their knowledge and skills transfer across

languages. This bridge enables the learners to use both or all their
languages for success in school and for lifelong learning. In terms
of cognitive development, the school activities will engage learners
to move well beyond the basic wh-questions to cover all higher
order thinking skills in L1 which they can transfer to the other
languages once enough Filipino or English has been acquired to
use these skills in thinking and articulating thoughts.” (mula sa

Tungo sa pagsasakatuparan ng programang MTB-MLE, mahalaga ang
magiging gampanin ng pagsasaling-wika at upang makapag-ambag, ang mga
mananaliksik ay nakabuo ng isang pag-aaral. Sa pag-aaral na ito, sisikapin ng
mga mananaliksik na isalin ang ilang akdang pampanitikan, partikular ang mga
kuwentong pambata. Nakasentro ang pagsasalin sa kuwentong pambata
sapagkat isa ito sa mga lunsarang teksto na ginagamit sa pagtuturo ng Mother
Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE). Isasalin ito sa komunikatibong
paraan ng pagsasalin mula sa wikang Filipino patungong wikang Cebuano. Pinili
ang wikang Cebuano sapagkat sa lahat ng pangunahing wika sa Pilipinas, ito ang
pinakamalapit sa mga mananaliksik.
