H12: HormonenParagraaf 1: De aanmaak van hormonen
Hormoonklieren zijn endocriene klieren, zij geven hun producten af aan het
inwendige milieu, het bloed, weefselvloeistof, cellen en lymfe. Bij zweet- en
verteringsklieren komen de producten in het uitwendig milieu terecht, op je huid of in
de darm -> exocriene klieren. Doelwitcellen bevinden zich in de doelwitorganen.
De hypofyse is de centrale hormoonklier, het coördineert de aansturing van
hormoonklieren. Vanuit de hypothalamus ontvangt de hypofyse informatie over
lichaam, daarmee zet de hypofyse andere hormoonklieren aan tot actie. Ook regelt
de hypofyse de groei en rijping van geslachtscellen. De hypofyse bestaat uit de
neurohypofyse (zenuwweefsel met uitlopers van neuronen) en de adenohypofyse
(bestaat uit klierweefsel).
Als reactie op een dalende bloeddruk maken neuronen in de hypothalamus het
neurohormoon ADH, via de uitlopers van de neuronen komt ADH in de
neurohypofyse waar de uitlopers het afgeven aan het
bloed. Bloedvaten trekken samen en de uitscheiding van
water via de nieren vermindert -> bloeddruk stijgt.
Oxytocine beïnvloedt de contractie van de gladde spieren
in de baarmoederwand bij de bevalling en is betrokken bij
sociaal gedrag. Synapsen in de hypothalamus geven de
releasing-hormonen af aan het bloed waarna ze
rechtstreeks terechtkomen in de adenohypofyse.
Inhibiting-hormonen zijn neurohormonen die de afgifte van
bepaalde hormonen door adenohypofyse remmen. Zie
afbeelding 1.
FSH stimuleert de groei en ontwikkeling van de follikels in de eierstokken. De follikels
maken oestradiol en oestrogeen, een stijging van oestradiol stimuleert de afgifte van
LH door de hypofyse -> ovulatie. Na ovulatie ontstaat uit de rest van de follikel het
gele lichaam dat progesteron maakt. -> FSH-RH afgifte wordt geremd. Veel
hormoonconcentraties zijn via een negatieve terugkoppeling
geregeld.
Sommige stoffen die je binnenkrijgt binden aan de
membraanreceptoren die bestemd zijn voor hormonen. Daardoor
kunnen ze je lichaam beïnvloeden. (Bijv. soja bindt aan
oestradiolreceptor). Zie afbeelding 2.
