As a trainee programmer at a job that focuses on developing computer games, I have
been asked to create a simple game that would appeal teenagers.
The game that I have been asked to develop has to have a character that players can
navigate with around the map. The map itself needs to have enclosed areas such as
buildings and other structures that are suitable for my chosen theme. There should also
be an end goal of the game for each level such as collecting coins or other types of
objects. After each level, the difficulty of the game would gradually increase making it
more challenging for the player in different ways. The game difficulty will be increased
by having hazards that can take the player lives. Player will have limited amount of
these lives for if the player loses all his lives the game would end.
In terms of UI and UX requirements for this game, I will have to create an appropriate
and simple menu that is straightforward. I will also need to implement sound effects and
indicators for lives and collectable objects so that the player can view its progress.
