is defined as physical or psychological invasion of a person's body. For example, rape, inflicting
injuries on a person's body, or causing someone to suffer emotionally or psychologically. Other

or an object to penetrate a person without their permission. Sexual harassment does not always
have to be related to sex, for example, inappropriate jokes, offensive comments, or bullying a
person because of their sexual orientation or gender.
Sexual harassment encompasses all the aspects of sexual assault, and this includes
inappropriate touches. The person who was harassed is the determinant of whether they were
assaulted. It doesn't matter what the doer thinks. There are many reports of sexual harassment
and assault that happen; unluckily, these acts go unpunished and encourage the act. The purpose
of this topic is to inspire people to be more responsible individuals and respect people's space,
and it is their right to do with their spaces without fearing someone to invade them.
Sexual assault in the military forces is an ongoing issue that has seen extensive coverage
from media houses. Both men and women have been assaulted; for example, a survey carried out
in 2012 in the United States found out that only 3,374 cases of sexual harassment were reported
while the actual number was 26,000, this is 30 percent more compared to 2010 (Department of
Defense 2012). The findings were shocking, and this is because a lot of people don't believe that
military people would also undergo sexual assault and harassment. The military prides itself as
an institution of discipline, honor, and integrity. Today sexual assault is still a significant issue in
the military because, for a long time, no action had been carried on the perpetrators, making
them comfortable with whatever they have been doing.
