-when you suspect meningitis you need to isolate client as soon as possible when will be droplet
precautions need to have/ maintain this for at least 24 hours after antibiotic therapy

-pt should eat small, frequent meals, not allow the stomach to get too empty or too full, sit up 30
minutes after meals.
-check and ask providers before tanking antacids
-no spicy, greasy, fried foods and drink plenty of fluids between meals

-bottle feeding can be successful and adequate source of nutrition in the mother chooses not to
breastfeed. New born may need to eat every 3-4 hours
-formula may only be refrigerated for up to 48 hours, can mix powder with tap water if the water
is questionable should be boiled 1st.
-bottle feed is best at 45 degree angle help close to infant
