c. Acidosis: is when the acidity in the blood and body tissues increases
d. Alkalosis: is when hydrogen ion concentration in the blood and the tissues are
reduced or decrease.
3. Name three ways the body regulates the pH of blood.
The body regulates the pH of blood by one, chemical buffers (through bicarbonates), two
reducing CO2 which reduces HCO3 production, and three by renal regulation through the
mechanism of renin-->angiotensin-->aldosterone.
