8.1 Algemene functie van het hormoonstelsel
Het hormoonstelsel heeft een langdurige communicatie tussen cellen. Hormonen zijn receptorspecifiek. Het zijn chemische
signaalstoffen die door een specifieke receptor moet worden ontvangen. Het heeft effect op heel het lichaam want het gaat
direct de bloedbanen in (endocrien). Dit om homeostse te behouden in het lichaam.

8.3 Werking van het hormoonstelsel
De werking van hormoonstelsel hangt af van een negatieve terugkoppeling. Als het lichaam een prikkel waarneemt zal het
hormonen afscheiden, naar mate de hormonen ‘inwerken’ zal stilaan de prikkel verdwijnen totdat lichaam terug in neutrale
toestand is.
3 type prikkels: humorale, hormonale en neurale.
Prikkel zet productie v hormonen opgang = toename hormonenconcentratie= prikkel neemt traag af
Neurale prikkels:
Hypothalamus 3 manieren reguleren hormoonstelsel
1; zelf reguleren als endocriene klier (afscheiden ADH en oxytocine)
2; regulerende hormonen afgeven endocrien klieren in hypofysevoorkwab geactiveerd = afscheiden RH en IH
3; innervatie bijniermerg van sympathisch zs activatie sympathisch zs = afscheiden cortisol, geslachtshormonen en
aldosteron.
Het hormoonstelsel regelt allerlei lichaamsfuncties. Bijvoorbeeld temperatuur, bewustzijn, ademhaling, bloeddruk, hartslag,
spijsvertering, slapen en voortplanting. Daarnaast regelt het hormoonstelsel reacties op lichamelijke en psychische stress.
