, Introduction

These checklists are designed for teachers to use when evaluating student skills and for students
to use when practicing skills or participating in peer check-offs. There are two types of checklist:
* For each procedure, a checklist containing all the procedural steps, created specifically for that
procedure.
* One principles-based checklist that applies to all procedures.

The principles checklist can be used in two ways:
1. For evaluating students, especially in clinical settings, teachers can use it instead of
the steps-based checklists. If you choose, you can evaluate all procedures using this
one piece of paper. Simply make as many copies as you need. For example, if you
have 8 students and you expect to evaluate 3 skills per day, then you will need
24 copies for a clinical day.
2. For all students, and for teachers who prefer the individual, steps-based forms, you
should use the principles checklist as the first page for each of those. Make as many
copies of the principles checklist as you need.
