Definition: The nervous system is a complex collection of nerves and specialized cells known as neurons that transmit signals between differentparts of the body.
Parkinson's disease is a condition that affects the brain.
Symptoms: Involuntary shaking of particular parts of the body (tremor), slow movement, stiff and inflexible muscles
Treatment: Physiotherapy and occupational therapy, medication in some cases, brain surgery
Multiple sclerosis is a lifelong condition that affects the brain and nerves.
Symptoms: fatigue, difficulty walking, vision problems: such as blurred vision, problems controlling the
bladder, numbness or tingling in different parts of the body, muscle stiffness and spasms.
Treatment: There's currently no cure for MS, but a number of treatments can help control the condition. For example, steroids medicine.
Dementia is a syndrome in which there is deterioration in memory, thinking, behavior and the ability to perform
everyday activities. Although dementia mainly affects older people.
Symptoms: memory loss., difficulty concentrating, finding it hard to carry out familiar daily tasks, such as getting confused over the correct
change when shopping, struggling to follow a conversation or find the right word.
Treatment: No cure, no treatment.
