CAR WEEK 7 LECTURE NOTES – PROBLEMS IN RELATIONSHIPS Most people disapprove of infidelity.
It is more likely to happen during summer months.

Relationship factors associated with infidelity are low satisfaction, low commitment, prior
non-marital cohabitation.
Partners of the same religion and similar levels of education is less likely to cheat.

unemployment, low levels of education, differences races.
Interpersonal characteristics that increase the risk of divorce are intimate partner violence,
infidelity, number of relo problems, low commitment, low levels of love and trust, low
positive emotion, high negative emotion/distress, low sexual satisfaction and frequent
conflict.
Children of divorce are more likely to experience difficulties in relationships and divorce.
